MUNTJAC

Moose hunting is done in the original way with moose dogs driving moose to the guns.

Each hunter will be able to hear the dog barking when it is in contact with a moose. When the contacted moose moves, the dog moves along with no barking. Then, when the moose stands still, the dog will bark again, and most of the time the hunters will be able to hear this.

It is a very exciting way of hunting, and you can feel adrenalin in your veins when you hear the dog´s bark getting closer and closer... Notice that moose is a real wild animal - no catch guarantees because they are much smarter than they look!

A typical moose hunting day will start about 8.00 a.m. with a staff briefing. That will be done every morning. Thereafter we will move out to the forest for the first drive of the day. After some drives we will have lunch out in the wild with a camp fire and take some time to talk about the day so far. After lunch we will head out for some more drives in the afternoon.

The number of daily drives depends on various things, such as the number of animals shot, animals seen, and other essential things that influence the drives. Typically there will be about 3-4 drives daily.

After the last drive all the hunters will be collected and driven back to the cabin. We will start the preparations for dinner, and of course the sauna will be warmed. After a relaxing sauna, a good meal and a cosy chat about the day, it will be time for a good night’s sleep. Ask more!
